The Endangered Landscapes & Seascapes Programme is pleased to announce its latest call for landscape restoration grants.
Under the Convention on Biological Diversity, countries have committed to ensuring that at least 30% of degraded land is under effective restoration by 2030. Landscapes play a crucial role in achieving this target, by halting biodiversity loss, providing the space and connectivity for nature to flourish, and enabling the recovery of ecological processes. They also contribute to climate change mitigation by storing and sequestering carbon, while offering a range of benefits to people, from supporting livelihoods to enhancing well-being.
The Endangered Landscapes & Seascapes Programme funds large-scale landscape restoration initiatives across Europe. These projects are driven by strong partnerships, supported by local communities, and engage with a variety of sectors to deliver for nature, climate, and people.
Restoring multifunctional landscapes at scale is complex. We seek bold and innovative projects with a long-term vision that aim to create real impact on the ground. We also encourage projects eager to share their experiences and lessons with the broader Endangered Landscapes & Seascapes Programme restoration network and beyond.
