Four eagle owls return to the wild in the Danube Delta

The night sky over the Danube once again resonates with the call of Europe’s largest owl – the Eurasian eagle owl (Bubo bubo). Four young birds – two males and two females – have embarked on their first journey into the wild as part of Rewilding Ukraine’s ongoing programme to restore this iconic species in the Danube Delta.

Future rewilders connect with the wild in the Danube Delta

This July, an educational camp on the Romanian side of the Danube Delta rewilding landscape saw 30 high school students reconnect with nature. A range of engaging activities and exciting field trips gave the children an appreciation for rewilding and inspiration for the future.
